Mason hopped off of his Manticore and dropped down to the ground and put his Manticore back in the ball. He waited for the others to land in front of the entrance.

Magic's Charizard landed on the ground nimbly, then Magic got the Fire Pokemon back in its Pokeball. He looked around, making sure it was Gateway Mountain, and not some other place. "Rebecca! Land! This is the right place!" he called up to his fellow Elite.

"Wait up!" Rebecca's voice was heard in the distance. She cork-screwed on her Hydrogriff and landed gracefully next to the others. She said 'bye' to her Hydrogriff and sent it to it's Pokeball. "Sorry I'm late, I took a detour through Rivershine."

Magic studied the mountain. "Rivershine? I took one through Orchard City and I still got here faster," he said as he moved closer to the mountain.

[Let's pretend Orchard City is farther from Rivershine.]

Magic nodded, and walked into the mountain. It was basically what you'd expect to see in a diamond mining cave, but without the diamonds. The walls and such were very shiny.

Mason stepped forward, the click of his shoes echoing through the cave. Then, suddenly, he heard more footsteps from the forward direction.

Then, emerging from the darkness was a man with a black suit and a black hat and a yellow D on his chest. "INTRUDERS!" he shouted.

"Chillrent! Use Ice Fang!" Mason shouted as Chillrent bit down on the Arbok.

Magic rushed up, and got out his Houndoom. "Houndoom! Crunch!" he shouted as the Houndoom did just that.

The Arbok took the attacks and fainted right after. The Grunt groaned and ran away.

It was too late. The grunt was already gone, but he had dropped a slip of paper in his haste.
