Session 1 (May 4-May 24)

There will be a two hour session each day for catching. If you are not online during this period of time, that is your fault. You cannot attack the Safari Pokemon. You can only throw mud, which makes for easier capture, but they are more likely to flee, feed them, which makes for harder capture, but they are less likely to flee, and you can catch them.

You get 20 Safari Balls per day. You cannot immediately catch them. I will play the role of the Safari Pokemon.

A wild Manticore strode out of the bushes and roamed the area.

Zane saw the Manticore, he froze, not to scare it away.

(So.. I throw mud on it and then what? I use a pokeball to catch it?)

[You do whatever you want, using the provided items]

The Manticore continued to stroll, unnoticing of Zane.

Zane had some Manticore food in his backpack. He walked slowly to the Manticore and fed it with the food.

The Manticore chomped down the food in a bite. He sniffed Zane, and walked slowly around him.

Zane petted Manticore on his head.

(Ok, how do I catch him now? He seems to like me)

[Throw a ball and see if it works]

Zane threw a pokeball near the Manticore.

The Pokeball opened and Manticore was sucked in. He shook inside and popped free. The ball shattered. The Manticore backed away from Zane.

Zane's jaw fell open. "Wow" Zane said quietly.

The Manticore roared, hungry for more food.

Then Zane fed him more food and then tried the pokeball again.

The Manticore gobbled the food, and inside the Pokeball chewed it. He then realized he was in a ball and broke free again. He stayed in longer this time though, he was very close.

Then, Zane threw a pokeball near the Manticore. "STARAVIA! Use Peck on Manticore!" Zane said as Staravia pecked Manticore very hard.

(How do I know if Manticore is losing?)

[Not in the Safari. You didn't know? In Safari Zones food, mud and SafariBalls are all you can have, trust me]

(What do SafariBalls do?)

[It's like a regular Pokeball, you just use SafariBalls in Safari Zones]

Zane threw a pokeball near Manticore.

(I wonder if he gets inside like a regular pokeball)

(Ok.. What will the safari ball do to the manticore?)

[NOTHING! I'VE TOLD YOU MULTIPLE TIMES THAT IT'S JUST A REGULAR POKEBALL, BUT IT CAN ONLY BE USED IN THE SAFARI ZONE!]
